1. Front Office Changes
Commissioner Nick Sakiewics took the reigns in January 2016 right before the beginning of last season. He is no stranger to sports and how to run a team or a league. Sackiewics helped start and grow Major League Soccer in the United States. Acting as President and General Manager for clubs in the MLS he has secured successful franchises with hopes to do the same in the NLL.
2. A New Look
On December 17th, at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, the NLL revealed their new league logo. It is the first revision of the leagues logo in over 30 years. The new logo is sleek, bold, and simple but sends a powerful message. Within the logo there are tributes to the four original NLL teams, a Native American Morning Star, a lacrosse goal, and a shield.
